About the Role

The role involves handling equipment orders and returns, sourcing equipment, generating purchase orders, billing reconciliation, inventory management, reporting, forecasting, and leading various meetings and initiatives such as Pre‑Mob, monthly equipment reviews, LEAN/5S, and equipment‑plan execution. • Follow procedures for receiving and processing equipment orders and returns. • Source equipment internally and from third‑party rental/service suppliers. • Generate purchase orders for equipment purchases and rentals. • Reconcile and process billing of contracts, invoices, and work orders daily. • Support electronic inventory management. • Support physical inventory management on sites or facilities. • Update task codes and off‑rent dates with input from project teams. • Produce scheduled and on‑demand inventory management reports with quality control. • Interpret on‑rent and forecast reports. • Schedule and lead Pre‑Mob meetings with site leadership. • Lead monthly equipment review meetings with project and accounting teams. • Support LEAN/5S initiatives. • Collaborate with equipment facility craft teams to execute equipment plans. • Facilitate forecast review meetings with project teams and trade partners. • Reconcile fleet invoicing with accounting, vendors, and project teams. • Provide equipment solutions and issue resolution, recommending equipment type and maintenance. • Facilitate ordering of vehicles for team members and projects. • Handle DOT registration and respond to DOT and driver inquiries. • Participate in equipment facility safety program and uphold Mortenson’s Zero Injury policy. • Dispatch and schedule equipment deliveries, including logistics planning. • Build effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an Equipment Specialist‑Traveler who will support day‑to‑day operations with an emphasis on building customer relationships, managing processes for project teams, equipment facility teams, buyers, and HQ leadership. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of rental equipment, construction, or related experience (or 4+ years without a degree), proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong attention to detail, customer‑service focus, knowledge of purchasing/rental processes, organization, influence, and effective communication; billing‑software experience is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of rental equipment, construction, or related experience (or 4+ years without degree). • Experience with billing software (preferred). • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Superior attention to detail and accuracy. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple customer needs. • Working knowledge of purchasing/rental processes and procedures. • Strong organization and planning abilities. • Ability to influence and active listening skills. • Effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback.
