Maintenance Leader

About the Role

The Crane Maintenance Lead collaborates with supervisors and teams to ensure safe and efficient crane operations, supporting projects, maintenance, and emergency response while upholding rigorous safety standards. The role may require weekend and holiday work as needed. • Provide safe and timely responses to mill issues and calls in coordination with the NYS Crane Maintenance Supervisor and related teams. • Ensure compliance with NYS/Maintenance department policies and procedures. • Support maintenance crane projects and preventive maintenance activities. • Lead accident and emergency response efforts and follow up with the Maintenance Supervisor on any issues. • Organize, plan, and prioritize work for self and team to meet goals. • Develop and build teams by fostering trust, respect, and cooperation, and resolve conflicts effectively. • Apply problem‑solving and judgment/decision‑making skills to evaluate options and choose appropriate solutions.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of experience as an Electrician I or Millwright I (or equivalent), five years of overhead crane maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting, and a minimum of six months of leadership experience. These qualifications ensure the ability to manage complex crane maintenance operations safely. • Demonstrate safety‑minded support for the entire Maintenance Team and strive for world‑class reliability. • Minimum 2 years experience as an Electrician I/Millwright I or equivalent. • At least 5 years overhead crane maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting. • Minimum 6 months of leadership experience. • Communicate clearly and listen attentively to ensure understanding. • Exhibit leadership presence and courage to address critical alignment issues and handle adversity.
