About the Role
Responsibilities include cutting new or duplicate keys for master key systems, repairing items to ensure safe operation, inspecting facilities and components for safety, and maintaining a preventive maintenance program. The role also involves fabricating custom locks for specialized security needs, diagnosing security system malfunctions, performing minor door and frame repairs, re‑keying locks, and changing combinations to uphold facility security. Coordination with administration and other trades is required to complete work orders efficiently, along with maintaining tools and equipment, requesting supplies to sustain inventory, and assisting other trades personnel as needed. • Perform lock cutting, keying, repair, and installation for buildings, equipment, lockers, and vehicles. • Inspect and maintain lock and security systems, including preventive maintenance programs. • Fabricate custom locks and diagnose security system malfunctions. • Re‑key locks, change combinations, and modify doors/frames to ensure proper security. • Coordinate work orders with administration and other trades, and assist fellow trade personnel. • Maintain and request tools, equipment, and supplies to support operations. • Follow oral and written instructions, perform manual labor, and build effective working relationships. • Work in office and field environments, traveling between properties and handling up to 100‑lb loads.

What You Bring
The employee will perform skilled locksmith work including repair, alteration, installation, and keying of locks on buildings, equipment, lockers, and vehicles, addressing immediate operational and safety concerns while maintaining keying, card access, and proximity access systems. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma, preferably supplemented by vocational training or relevant work experience. Required knowledge and abilities include general understanding of locks and security systems, proficiency with installation and repair tools, awareness of occupational hazards, ability to follow oral and written instructions, perform extended manual labor, and build effective working relationships. The work environment includes a professional office setting with standard office equipment and frequent travel between properties in varying weather conditions. Physical demands involve climbing stairs, traveling between buildings, standing or sitting for most of the shift, using hands for machinery, walking, talking, hearing, and the ability to lift or move up to 100 lb repeatedly. • Hold a high school diploma; vocational training or related experience preferred. • Possess general knowledge of locks, security systems, and associated safety hazards.
