About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments to transport waste and recyclable materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Commercial drivers handle containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds, residential drivers collect household waste, and roll‑off drivers move large open‑top containers, all while navigating congested roadways, alleys, and tight spaces. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend all required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Communicate customer requests, service interruptions, and heavy receptacles to Operations or Dispatch. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and check‑out procedures. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring

Candidates must possess a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, as the role may require occasional air travel or access to federal property. • Minimum 1 year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years. • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Hold a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. • High School Diploma or GED preferred. • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, crouch, reach, handle, sit, talk, and hear while performing duties.
