About the Role
The Fire Protection Engineering Consultant role is customer‑facing and works closely with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and clients to ensure fire, suppression, and life‑safety systems meet code requirements. The position demands organization, attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently from home while meeting project deadlines. • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop cost‑effective fire protection solutions. • Produce client reports recommending updates for fire, suppression, and life‑safety system compliance. • Provide code references, research, and interpret fire protection standards. • Meet with jurisdictional authorities and clients to resolve compliance issues. • Stay current on evolving codes, standards, and industry practices.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and relevant certifications, have passed the EIT exam, and be eligible to sit for the Professional Engineering exam within four years. U.S. work authorization and proximity (within one hour) to a major airport are required due to 50‑75% travel across the U.S. and Canada. Desired qualifications include knowledge of NFPA and building codes, field fire‑protection consulting experience, strong time‑management, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and relevant certifications; passed EIT exam and eligible for PE within 4 years. • Travel 50‑75% of the time across the U.S. and Canada; reside within one hour of a major airport. • Possess knowledge of NFPA and building life‑safety codes; field engineering or consulting experience in fire protection preferred. • Demonstrate strong time‑management, written and verbal communication, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
