About the Role

The role requires 24x7 operation of customer‑critical database systems, implementation of cloud‑based solutions, and the creation of standard operating procedures to standardize activities. The DBA collaborates with development teams to design and support database applications, assists with code and release deployments, and ensures optimal performance and reliability. Performance tuning, system and query optimization, and resolution of bottlenecks are core duties, alongside planning and executing patching, migrations, upgrades, and security compliance. The DBA designs backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies, facilitates audit remediation, and continuously improves services through monitoring tools and automation. • Manage creation, configuration, monitoring, and 24x7 availability of all database instances • Implement and support cloud‑based, highly available redundant database solutions • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for database activities • Provide application support, collaborate with developers, and assist with code/release deployments • Perform system and query performance tuning; resolve bottlenecks and ensure scalability • Plan and execute database patching, migrations, upgrades, and security compliance • Design backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies; facilitate audit remediation • Utilize SQL monitoring tools, conduct health checks, capacity planning, and automate routine tasks • Follow ITIL‑aligned operational policies; track incidents and project progress via ticketing systems • Maintain continuous learning, certifications, and technical documentation

What You Bring

The Database Administrator (DBA) will possess extensive knowledge and practical experience supporting enterprise database environments with MS SQL and one or more additional platforms such as Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL. Responsibilities include managing installations, upgrades, data access and migration, high availability, monitoring, and troubleshooting, while providing technical leadership in database design, security, performance tuning, and capacity planning for business‑critical applications. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of proven DBA experience, strong hands‑on expertise with MS SQL Server and related technologies (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T‑SQL), and proficiency in at least one additional database system. Experience with high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, scripting for automation, cloud environments (Azure/AWS), and ITIL‑aligned processes is required, as well as good communication skills and relevant certifications. • 2–5 years proven DBA experience, primarily with MS SQL Server • Hands‑on experience with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T‑SQL and related SQL Server technologies • Proficiency in at least one additional database system (Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) • Experience designing HA/DR solutions and performing performance tuning, backup, and recovery • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell) and automation of database processes • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Azure or AWS cloud environments • Strong security practices, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure • Relevant certifications: MS SQL DBA, additional DBMS certificates, Azure SQL, ITIL Foundation (preferred)
