About the Role

Key responsibilities include performing planned and reactive electrical maintenance, managing sub‑contractors, using the CAFM system to record work, and producing accurate technical and activity reports. The engineer also supports shift teams, provides first‑line out‑of‑hours call‑outs, ensures contractual compliance through technology, and escalates major incidents promptly. All work is carried out in line with health, safety, environmental and quality legislation. • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities with a professional quality focus. • Record all work accurately in the CAFM system and complete related documentation. • Provide weekly timesheet entries on time and ensure they are precise. • Assist the management team in preparing quotations for additional works by supplying accurate information. • Communicate clearly with team members, clients and subcontractors at all times. • Attend regular shift briefings and team meetings to stay aligned on priorities. • Offer first‑line out‑of‑hours call‑out support for the site when required. • Use technology systems proactively to verify contractual compliance. • Escalate major site issues or incidents to the line manager immediately. • Participate in health, safety, environmental and quality processes, including accident investigations, risk assessments and audits. • Handle, store and use materials and equipment in accordance with relevant legislation.

What You Bring

Essential qualifications are an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G, an 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation certification (or the ability to obtain it), and a minimum of five years’ commercial maintenance experience, preferably in retail or shopping centre environments. Candidates should possess strong communication, IT and report‑writing skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work calmly under pressure. • Apply knowledge of air‑conditioning, ventilation extraction, plumbing and general building fabric in maintenance tasks.
