About the Role

In this position you will lead large‑scale, technically complex marine capital and preservation projects, aligning contributors with deliverables, schedules, and compliance requirements. Responsibilities include preparing and overseeing budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs, managing contractual obligations, monitoring risks such as vessel adaptations and regulatory permits, and guiding pursuit and initiation activities. You will also mentor staff, coordinate resource and subcontracting needs, maintain client communication, conduct problem‑project reviews, and ensure thorough project close‑out and lessons‑learned. • Lead delivery of large‑scale maritime infrastructure projects from proposal through closeout. • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs, ensuring compliance with public‑sector funding and grant requirements. • Oversee contractual performance and alignment with regional transportation agency standards. • Monitor and mitigate risks related to vessel adaptations, environmental permits, and regulatory changes. • Guide pursuit, go/no‑go decisions, and pricing for new marine opportunities. • Conduct technical reviews, QA/QC, and select qualified maritime, structural, civil, or systems staff. • Mentor and supervise project team members across vessel, terminal, and system initiatives. • Coordinate resource allocation and subcontractor engagement, including marine engineering and permitting consultants. • Maintain regular client communication, status reporting, and issue escalation. • Lead problem‑project reviews and develop recovery plans to address schedule or budget variances. • Ensure accurate accounts receivable tracking and timely unbilled revenue collection. • Execute formal project closeout and lessons‑learned sessions focused on maritime operations.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field (master’s preferred) and possesses essential project‑management or professional‑engineer certification (e.g., PMP, PE, CAPM). You bring at least 12 years of post‑education experience delivering ferry, maritime, or transportation infrastructure projects in Washington, with deep knowledge of regional agencies, maritime regulations, and environmental permitting. Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, communication, and leadership skills are required, along with proficiency in MS Office, project‑management tools, and technical writing. • Bachelor’s (master’s preferred) degree in engineering, science, or related discipline. • PMP, PE, or CAPM certification. • Minimum 12 years of experience delivering ferry or maritime infrastructure projects in Washington. • Proven ability to navigate regional transportation agencies, maritime regulations, and environmental permitting processes. • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders. • Proficiency with MS Office, project‑management software, and technical documentation. • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and QA/QC adherence.
