About the Role

• Lead inspectors or act as solo inspector for construction inspection of bridge and/or highway projects, measuring and calculating quantities. • Document work with daily reports, photos, and sketches. • Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection, including pay estimates, change orders, daily reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc. • Ensure work complies with NJDOT or other agency specifications. • Apply project plans, company policies, guidelines, standards, and specifications, making independent decisions to progress the project. • Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all project levels. • Coordinate on‑site activities and resolve work‑related problems. • Lead other construction inspectors, providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a passionate and experienced Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Holmdel, NJ. Our team of professional engineers and technicians leads projects from pre‑construction through completion, ensuring exceptional quality, cost efficiency, and schedule performance at every step. Our ACI, SAT, and NICET‑certified professionals combine hands‑on field expertise with cutting‑edge training to deliver excellence across a diverse portfolio that includes heavy highways, multi‑span bridges, traffic signal improvements, marine work, and water/wastewater infrastructure. We are committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and innovation. • High school diploma/GED required. • Minimum 10 years of construction engineering/inspection experience. • Valid U.S. driver’s license required. • PE license preferred. • NICET Certification III/IV or NJDOT equivalent preferred. • Prior experience with NJDOT and municipal clients preferred. • Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, and attention‑to‑detail skills. • Willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended periods. • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job‑related communications.
