About the Role

You will work with a worldwide network of experts, turning forward‑thinking concepts into cutting‑edge prototypes while enjoying the freedom to explore new ideas and solve complex design challenges. The position also requires ensuring compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. In this role you will drive electrical research and development, collaborate with global teams, and ensure prototypes meet performance and quality standards. • Contribute innovative electrical design concepts to R&D projects. • Lead or support initiatives aligned with time, cost, and quality objectives. • Coordinate prototype manufacturing and testing activities. • Design and execute experiments to validate technical solutions. • Document project progress and develop design rules from findings. • Participate in intellectual property discussions and risk assessments. • Provide technical support to factories, marketing teams, and customers. • Collaborate with global R&D peers to optimize electrical designs. • Support cost‑out initiatives and design portfolio development.

What You Bring

Hitachi Energy seeks an innovative, detail‑focused Electrical R&D Engineer for the Liquid‑Filled Distribution Transformers team. The role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of transformer technology, enhancing reliability, sustainability, and performance in global power distribution. A degree in electrical engineering or a related field and relevant experience are required. Strong communication skills and a solution‑oriented mindset are essential. • Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. • Have at least two years of electrical design experience, preferably with transformers. • Knowledge of magnetic, dielectric, or thermal design is preferred. • Familiarity with FEM or 2‑D circuit‑simulation tools is advantageous. • Demonstrate strong communication and a creative, solution‑oriented mindset.
