About the Role

The Superintendent will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a defined discipline area. Responsibilities include scheduling materials and equipment, reviewing contract documents, resolving design discrepancies, developing site logistics, and managing Mortenson tools. They will also lead on‑site orientations, supervise crews, mentor staff, handle hiring and termination, ensure accurate timecard coding, and monitor work progress and productivity. In addition to operational duties, the Superintendent will provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance, recognize and mitigate adverse conditions, and drive continuous improvement of processes. They will conduct career development discussions, evaluate foremen, and support training to keep craft teams current and skilled. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies. • Develop and manage project schedules, including three- and six-week look-ahead schedules. • Create a site logistics plan. • Manage utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Collaborate with project partner superintendents. • Conduct on‑site project orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and site meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews. • Mentor, manage, and evaluate assistant superintendents, general foremen, and foremen. • Interview, hire, transfer, and, if needed, terminate craft team members. • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards. • Manage and track work progress and craft productivity. • Ensure craft team member training is current prior to tasks. • Conduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team members. • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance. • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions. • Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.

BLUvera, Mortenson’s vertically integrated manufacturing affiliate, is looking for an experienced Superintendent I to lead a manufacturing plant within the construction industry. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and professional while maintaining confidentiality. The Superintendent must anticipate problems, devise creative solutions, and build strong customer relationships through excellent service. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or possess ten years of trade experience, along with at least eight years in construction and two years of supervisory experience. Required skills include strong organizational detail, basic knowledge of construction law, intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, a professional attitude, customer service capability, and a valid driver’s license. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum eight years construction experience, including at least two years supervisory. • Ability to handle multiple complex projects. • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency. • Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Current driver’s license.

The position offers a base salary range of $111,400 – $167,100, with location‑based adjustments for Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
