About the Role
In this role you will observe and document field activities during construction, perform sampling, testing, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel, and conduct calculations and data reduction of test results while drafting reports. You will operate field screening equipment, record readings, read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. Daily interaction with contractors, technicians, and project managers will build confidence to become the sole ECS representative on project sites. • Observe and document field construction activities • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel • Perform calculations, data reduction, and draft test reports • Use field screening equipment and log readings • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering plans • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites • Provide reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed)

What You Bring
We are seeking candidates who are actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and who have a strong interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the ability to carry 40‑70 lb repeatedly, with occasional lifts of up to 85 lb to waist height, and reliable personal transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed). Please note that relocation assistance is not available. • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or related discipline • Able to lift/carry 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height
