About the Role
The role involves assisting with the preparation and detonation of explosives, working from man baskets at heights of 25 to 50 feet to perform hand scaling, markup, and face loading using hand and power tools. The employee will safely handle and transport explosives, conduct routine maintenance and inspections of blasting equipment, and support the blasting team with various tasks while adhering to safety regulations. • Prepare and detonate explosives, ensuring safe handling and transport. • Perform hand scaling, markup, and face loading from man baskets at heights of 25–50 ft using hand and power tools. • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of blasting equipment. • Follow safety regulations and support the blasting team with various tasks.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of explosive safety protocols, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the physical capability to meet demanding job requirements, including lifting up to 75 lb and working in varied weather conditions. A flexible schedule and the ability to work in an underground mine environment are essential. Successful applicants will undergo a pre‑employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background checks, including a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms check, with some positions requiring ongoing FMCSA‑regulated testing. The work environment is primarily an underground mine with moving mechanical equipment and elevated noise levels. • Meet physical demands such as lifting up to 75 lb and working in variable weather conditions and flexible schedules. • Pass pre‑employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms background check. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of explosive safety protocols and regulations. • Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to an underground mine environment. • Physical capability for standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy loads.
