About the Role

Key impact areas include implementation of commodity sourcing strategies for direct materials, tender support, supplier delivery performance, cost reduction and forecast accuracy. The role involves leading negotiations, applying digital sourcing solutions such as e‑auctions, and participating in kick‑off and progress meetings for selected projects. Additional responsibilities cover supplier base development, risk management, claim handling, and performance evaluation. The specialist will maintain tender‑specific vendor lists, ensure RFQ compliance, support risk reviews, and manage procurement tracking through CSS teams while providing timely updates to cross‑functional stakeholders. • Develop and execute project procurement plans based on tender deliverables and overall strategy • Lead tender support, including budgeting, scheduling, and supplier quotation analysis • Conduct supplier negotiations focusing on cost and quality improvements, using digital sourcing tools such as e‑auctions • Maintain tender‑specific vendor lists and ensure RFQ compliance with client terms • Manage supplier qualification, performance evaluation, claim handling, and risk reviews • Track Hub India commodity procurement activities through CSS teams and provide regular MIS reporting • Provide cross‑functional updates on product delivery and act as the primary sourcing contact for project teams • Ensure purchase orders are placed with approved suppliers and adhere to defined terms and conditions • Update ERP (SAP) systems with procurement data and implement continuous improvement initiatives • Comply with all internal and external regulations, procedures, and Hitachi Energy safety and integrity values

What You Bring

The company is seeking a Strategic and Tactical Procurement Specialist who will deliver accurate and timely procurement activities for Hub India. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the specialist will plan, execute, and report on project sourcing performance, define procurement rules, and oversee order placement and delivery. Candidates must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering and possess 8‑12 years of relevant supply chain experience, including at least 5 years with EPAX, coaxial, fiber optic, control cable, and related commodities. Familiarity with tactical procurement processes, export/import procedures, SAP ERP, contract management, and advanced MS Office skills is required, along with strong English communication and proven negotiation abilities. • Hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering • Possess 8‑12 years of supply chain experience, including 5+ years with EPAX, coaxial, fiber optic, control cable and related commodities • Demonstrate expertise in tactical procurement, export/import processes, and contract management • Proficient in SAP ERP, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis • Exhibit excellent written and spoken English communication and strong negotiation skills
