About the Role

Key duties include providing dosimetry services—both internal and external dose assessments—delivering radiological instrumentation and calibration support, and contributing to an in‑house training pathway for trainee Health Physicists. The specialist will act as a subject‑matter expert in ionising radiation dosimetry, instrument selection and calibration, offering day‑to‑day technical support across multiple business units. • Provide dosimetry services, including internal and external dose assessments. • Deliver radiological instrumentation and calibration support to Rolls‑Royce Submarines programs. • Act as subject‑matter expert on ionising radiation dosimetry, instrument selection, and calibration. • Support health‑physics operational services and deliver radiation safety training. • Collaborate with multiple business units across the organisation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a degree or equivalent in physics, engineering, natural sciences, mathematics or a related discipline, and have at least four years of radiation protection experience on nuclear or radiological sites. Strong technical knowledge of dosimetry, instrument selection, calibration and training is essential. Desirable experience includes specialist dosimetry, qualified‑person instrumentation expertise and designing radiation safety training.
