About the Role

You will champion Mace’s Safety First value, leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards. You will apply technical expertise in local health and safety regulations and foster a diverse, inclusive environment that prioritises team wellbeing. Working as part of the Senior Construction Delivery Team, you will take direction from the Construction Lead and senior leadership, guide the wider team, and build relationships to influence senior stakeholders both internal and external. You will collaborate with clients to translate their vision into an onsite plan and lead a team of managers and professionals to deliver area plans with excellence. You will ensure budgets and operations are fiscally and ethically viable, meeting organisational and legislative compliance, and support the senior team in shaping long‑term strategy for a sustainable business future. You will hold others accountable to Mace values and aim to make a positive impact for people, clients and the planet. You will support managers and junior team members by sharing knowledge, networking, innovating and leveraging Mace Group’s Centres of Excellence and Knowledge Hub. You will provide technical expertise to delivery teams, promote a culture of ownership and clearly define roles and responsibilities. • Chair monthly project cost and risk meetings. • Lead cost management for complex work packages, controlling risk, opportunity and profit. • Support senior commercial team with monthly Cost Value Reports and commercial procedures. • Produce monthly client applications, approve invoices and issue interim payment certificates. • Draft technical and contractual correspondence and manage design consultant fees. • Ensure site team complies with commercial and legal agreements. • Communicate and coordinate with clients and subcontractors, handling claims and changes. • Drive net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing project emissions. • Lead and develop a team of managers and professionals, mentoring junior staff. • Identify and pursue opportunities to sell Mace services and win new work. • Maintain CSCS, SMSTS, and MRICS/CIOB (or equivalent) professional certifications.

What You Bring

Within our consult business we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in every project. • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent. • Demonstrate strong financial skills, commercial acumen and contract law knowledge. • Experience managing construction plans, variations and current construction technology. • Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and diverse supply chains. • Understanding of carbon sustainability impacts on project delivery. • Excellent presentation, negotiation and networking skills. • Member of senior management and safety leadership teams.
