About the Role
The incumbent will manage all aspects of distribution contractor relationships within the Regional Operations Team and deliver the annual capital expenditure plan to improve system reliability. Collaboration with technical and operating groups is essential to ensure projects meet expectations. Key responsibilities include overseeing contractor safety programs, leading the contract management team, establishing and reporting KPIs, and coordinating outage planning with the Nova Scotia Independent System Operator. The leader will also direct long‑ and short‑term work plans, manage quality assurance, and approve contractor change requests while resolving disputes. • Manage all aspects of distribution contractor relationships within Energy Delivery’s Regional Operations Team. • Deliver the annual capital expenditure (ACE) plan to improve distribution system reliability. • Coordinate with technical and operating groups to ensure successful project execution. • Oversee routine maintenance work assigned to distribution contractors and measure productivity against goals. • Lead the standby response team during unplanned events affecting the distribution system. • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements. • Administer the Contractor Safety Management Program, conducting field safety observations. • Provide day‑to‑day leadership of contract management, establishing and reporting KPI metrics. • Oversee outage planning and collaborate with NSISO to maintain grid reliability. • Execute long‑ and short‑term work and resource plans using internal and external resources. • Manage quality assurance for pre‑ and post‑work execution and integrate feedback into future planning. • Approve contractor change requests, resolve disputes, and support billing processes. • Identify and implement efficiencies in work execution and management. • Supervise emergency and reactive maintenance tasks on the distribution system.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or be eligible for P.Eng. designation) with 5‑7 years of electric utility experience, or be a certified Powerline Technician/Industrial Electrician with 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong analytical skills, project‑management background, and a valid driver’s licence are required; additional experience in transmission, substation work, or NERC compliance is a plus.
