About the Role

The Senior Design Engineer – Dry Utilities will join the EMEA team and support the design of major infrastructure projects across the region. This role involves leading or contributing to small to mid‑size projects, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering technical solutions from concept through construction documents. Key responsibilities include developing master plans, designing HV/LV utility corridors, street lighting, and electrical systems for treatment plants and pumping stations, as well as preparing cost analyses, technical reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders. The engineer will also coordinate approvals with local authorities, perform value‑engineering, and resolve clashes in 3D BIM models. • Lead or support design engineering on small to mid‑size dry utilities projects. • Mentor CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers, providing technical guidance. • Develop and review design deliverables using CAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM, and Revit. • Prepare detailed technical, commercial, and life‑cycle cost analyses for design alternatives. • Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations to clients and stakeholders. • Design HV/LV utility corridors, define right‑of‑way requirements, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. • Perform demand load calculations, size equipment, and conduct protection coordination. • Design street, under‑bridge, and tunnel lighting using tools such as Dialux, and produce SLDs and load schedules. • Engineer electrical systems for STPs, RO plants, and pumping stations, including lighting, earthing, lightning protection, telecom, security, and fire alarm systems. • Produce design reports, technical specifications, tender documents, and secure approvals from authorities and sub‑consultants. • Review and evaluate design reports and bids, preparing structured evaluation and value‑engineering reports. • Coordinate with local authorities to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with standards. • Respond to contractor RFIs and approve key technical submittals related to electrical works. • Verify clash detection outputs and resolve clashes within 3D models in collaboration with the design team.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least seven years of experience in large‑scale electrical design, with strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, and GCC utility standards. Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM, and Revit, along with extensive experience in HV, MV, and LV design, is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 7 years of relevant infrastructure design experience. • Hands‑on experience with HV, MV, and LV design adhering to NEC, IEEE, IEC, and GCC utility standards (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, etc.). • Extensive knowledge of DEWA standards, PSMP, PNOC, and GE submission processes. • Proficiency in Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM, and Revit software. • Additional experience in power systems design, building services, and DEWA liaison for approvals. • Registration with DEWA as an electrical engineer and familiarity with DM/RTA approval processes.
