About the Role

The project is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to lead HSE management, conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments, perform audits and reviews, and oversee document management and reporting. The role also involves training small groups on risk activities, identifying hazards promptly, and fostering a collaborative, innovative safety culture on site. • Apply HSE management techniques and monitor risk controls throughout project delivery. • Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and perform statistical trend analysis. • Execute audits, reviews, and continuous improvement of HSE systems, processes, and products. • Manage HSE documentation, including recording, monitoring, archiving, and routine communications. • Utilise computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and incident management systems. • Monitor, report, and drive improvements on performance, compliance, defects, and non‑conformances. • Provide basic risk training to small groups and promote a positive safety culture. • Identify and correct all potential hazards immediately on site. • Lead by example to foster collaboration, innovation, adaptability, and safety focus. • Work on a 14‑day on‑site, 7‑day off‑site roster in camp‑style accommodation in the Central West Orana region.

What You Bring

Candidates should have an electrical trades background, experience with transmission line construction, and strong communication skills using risk‑based methodologies. Required qualifications include a Diploma or Bachelor in Occupational Health and Safety (or related field), Safety Lead Auditor certification, HSE Practitioner status, and at least four years on large‑scale construction, substations or renewable energy projects. • Possess electrical trades background and transmission line construction experience with safety qualifications. • Hold a Diploma or Bachelor in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline, plus Safety Lead Auditor and HSE Practitioner certifications. • Bring 4+ years experience on large‑scale construction projects, including substations and renewable energy sites.
