About the Role
The Cost Accountant reports to the Controller and is based in the Candiac office. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and analysis of cost and inventory-related financial information, supporting sound financial decision-making through reliable cost accounting practices, financial reporting, and participation in budgeting and continuous-improvement initiatives. The position works closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and corporate teams to maintain accurate product costing, inventory controls, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. • Maintain and update standard costs, rate models, and overhead allocation methodologies. • Analyze production, material price, labor and overhead variances and manufacturing efficiencies. • Execute costing runs and post entries in SAP ERP. • Coordinate material price, production activity, and overhead updates with cross-functional teams. • Provide BOM and routing guidance to ensure accurate product costing. • Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and post complex inventory transactions. • Support physical inventory counts, variance analysis, and reporting. • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements and perform ledger reconciliations. • Post cost-related journal entries and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes. • Facilitate internal and external audit documentation and respond to information requests. • Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, cost estimates, and ad-hoc financial analysis. • Lead or support cross-functional projects to improve financial processes and controls.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA designation preferred. • Minimum 5 years progressive accounting or cost-accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. • Proven SAP ERP experience and strong Microsoft Excel skills. • Bilingual English/French (spoken and written). • Deep knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing finance principles. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities with high attention to detail. • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and teamwork mindset.
