About the Role
The position requires interaction with individuals at all levels of Cumming Corporation and its subsidiaries, as well as clients, vendors, outside counsel, and insurance companies. You will collaborate across the organization to support risk management and legal matters. • Implement and develop the company's risk management program. • Review contracts and agreements to identify risks and devise mitigation strategies. • Educate team members about risks and matriculate contract negotiations. • Implement contract and subconsultant management processes. • Handle labor and employment matters. • Coordinate with insurers to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance. • Conduct pre‑acquisition due diligence and support post‑acquisition integration. • Manage claims, subpoena responses, and litigation. • Address corporate compliance issues, including anti‑bribery, data privacy, and regulatory matters. • Resolve issues and disputes arising during contract performance. • Review and negotiate commercial leases. • Attend work during normal business hours. • Draft and negotiate construction and consulting agreements. • Identify and manage risks specific to the construction industry.

What You Bring
• Licensed to practice in Connecticut or eligible for admission. • 6–8 years of construction law experience in‑house or at a law firm. • Experience with project, construction, cost, and confidentiality agreements. • Knowledge of construction insurance coverages (professional liability, CGCL, auto, builders’ risk, cyber). • Understanding of corporate governance and regulatory compliance. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient legal research abilities. • Juris Doctorate degree required. • Familiarity with contract and document management software. • Preferred in‑house corporate, M&A, litigation, and labor and employment experience.

Benefits
The salary range for this full‑time role is $159,400–$223,133 per year, determined by position, geography, experience, and client requirements.
