About the Role
In this position you will perform quality calculations for progress pay estimates, draft and process change orders, read and interpret project plans and Caltrans standards, maintain contract document logs, take meeting minutes, coordinate RFI responses and submittals, review certified payroll, and assist with document control using various software. You will also exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources, maintain communication with the Resident Engineer, construction administration staff, and the District Construction office, and take on additional responsibilities as needed. • Perform quality calculations for progress pay estimates and maintain project records. • Draft change orders and manage approval processes. • Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and Caltrans standards. • Keep logs of contract documents and take meeting minutes. • Coordinate responses to RFIs and submittals. • Review certified payroll. • Assist with document control using software such as Expedition. • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources. • Maintain communication with Resident Engineer, construction administration staff, and District Construction office.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has at least 11 years of construction inspection or office engineering experience, can work independently, and possesses thorough knowledge of Caltrans construction practices, estimates, extra-work bidding, change orders, and related administrative duties. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, scheduling software, and Expedition (or equivalent) is required, and successful completion of WSP’s motor-vehicle screening is mandatory. • Minimum 11 years of construction inspection or office engineering experience. • Independent work capability with typical construction field office duties. • Thorough knowledge of Caltrans construction practices and related administrative procedures. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, scheduling software, and Expedition or equivalent. • Pass WSP’s motor vehicle screening. • Preferred: highway/bridge office engineering experience. • Preferred: experience with Falcon Electronic Document Management System (Falcon DMS).
