About the Role
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is responsible for prospecting and closing sales to new customers in order to achieve budgeted sales goals, while also developing and implementing effective selling strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability. The role manages existing business relationships, handles cancellation requests, educates customers on contract details, secures contract commitments during face‑to‑face interactions, and resolves all customer service escalations within the assigned territory. The SAE must reside in the greater San Diego area, spending the majority of the week on customer site visits and the remainder working from the area office. Core duties include initiating business‑to‑business sales relationships, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and executing retention plans that minimize revenue loss and improve customer profitability. The executive ensures high customer satisfaction by proposing solutions that comply with local, state, and federal regulations, communicating with Area Sales Managers, and preparing complex proposals on equipment optimization and leasing options. Collaboration with Plant Managers and Brokerage Account Managers is essential for upgrading materials and achieving plant goals, while staying informed about internal sales strategies, operational capabilities, and market trends. • Prospect and close new B2B sales to meet or exceed budgeted targets. • Develop and implement selling strategies for revenue growth and profitability. • Manage existing accounts, retain customers, and handle cancellation requests. • Maintain a qualified sales pipeline and track prospect information in the database. • Conduct retention calls to improve service, profitability, and customer satisfaction. • Propose compliant waste‑management solutions and coordinate with Area Sales Managers. • Prepare complex proposals, including equipment optimization and leasing options. • Collaborate with Plant Managers and Brokerage Account Managers to upgrade materials. • Achieve sales call activity goals and uphold SSDO relationship health standards. • Stay current on internal sales tactics, operational capabilities, and market trends.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are an accredited bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma/GED combined with four years of relevant experience. Candidates must have at least four years of direct B2B sales experience, including cold calling and phone‑based prospecting. • Reside in Greater San Diego and perform frequent on‑site customer visits. • Hold a bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma/GED) plus 4+ years B2B sales experience.

Compensation for this hybrid position includes a base salary range of $70,265 to $82,000, supplemented by incentive pay.
