About the Role
• Lead design-phase project activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, financial performance, schedule adherence, and seamless handoff to construction. • Align project scope, budget, and schedule while driving integrated team collaboration and construction readiness. • Manage project budgets, track trends, and communicate scope expectations and resources. • Develop and oversee project schedules, holding team members accountable for key milestones. • Secure required regulatory approvals and permits and ensure design documents match execution plans. • Prepare bid packages and contract manuals, and resolve technical design and specification issues. • Serve as primary liaison with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners, monitoring project success factors. • Mentor and coach design-phase team members, fostering career growth and high performance. • Maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and promote inclusive collaboration.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Design Phase Manager II to lead the design process, translate the owner's vision into actionable plans, and ensure a smooth transition to construction. The role demands flexibility, proactive problem‑solving, high professionalism, and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle one large or multiple projects simultaneously. • Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience. • Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project‑management/web applications at an intermediate level. • Ability to travel up to 100% and interpret Mortenson policies and construction law basics.

Benefits
The position offers a base salary ranging from $132,100 to $198,200, with adjustments for certain locations and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
