About the Role
The Senior Control Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and executing engineering design reviews of HVAC building automation systems across the client portfolio, covering network topology, controls strategy, and compliance with standards. The role works with engineers, technicians, and contractors to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement for projects ranging from component upgrades to new construction. • Lead engineering design reviews and technical review of control sequences, program logic, and functional performance test plans. • Manage commissioning review process and validate functional performance tests. • Conduct field inspections to identify risks and design deviations. • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design issues. • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process deficiencies and implementing improvements. • Manage multiple projects ensuring timely completion and budget adherence. • Provide controls guidance to mechanical engineering team and mentor junior engineers. • Oversee installation and configuration of BMS/BOS hardware and software. • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans with junior team support. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues during commissioning and operation. • Perform controls program “clip‑in” and evaluate operating trends, alarms, and data. • Monitor system performance and identify optimization opportunities. • Define multi‑site control network standards, topologies, and data strategies. • Apply and audit projects against ASHRAE, Title 24, and LEED standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and have at least seven years of progressive experience in facilities HVAC and control systems. Required expertise includes control theory, advanced HVAC systems, BACnet/Modbus protocols, and major BMS platforms such as ALC, Tridium, JCI, and Siemens, along with strong problem‑solving and communication skills. • Own KPI reporting and strategic program initiatives. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 7+ years HVAC control experience. • Expert knowledge of control theory, advanced HVAC systems, and protocols (BACnet, Modbus). • Proficiency with major BMS platforms (ALC, Tridium, JCI, Siemens) and complex operating sequences. • Strong problem‑solving, risk management, and communication skills for senior leadership. • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) or PMP certification. • Preferred: Experience with Automated Logic Controls (ALC) and building management system programming.
