About the Role

The position involves serving as a key communications consultant on transportation, master plan, water, and energy projects, implementing outreach strategies, and acting as a liaison between projects and communities. Responsibilities include developing strategic messaging, providing in‑person support at events, coordinating virtual and in‑person meetings, managing social‑media outreach, and overseeing content creation across multiple channels. The manager will develop performance metrics to evaluate outreach effectiveness, direct support services such as graphic design and photography, and ensure alignment of communications with client priorities. Additional duties include participating in external meetings, building relationships with technical teams, clients, and community partners, and supporting business development activities. • Lead communications and public engagement for infrastructure projects in the Mountain West. • Design and execute strategic messaging to educate communities on project purpose and benefits. • Conduct in‑person public involvement at tabling events, open houses, and construction sites. • Facilitate virtual and in‑person public meetings and community events. • Create and manage social‑media outreach plans across platforms such as X, Facebook, and Instagram. • Produce content for websites, presentations, marketing materials, and media notifications. • Establish performance metrics to assess outreach campaign effectiveness. • Direct support services including graphic design, video production, and photography. • Coordinate with project teams and clients to align communications with priorities and messaging. • Build and maintain relationships with technical teams, clients, and local community partners. • Contribute to business development activities and proposal preparation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Politics, Planning or a related field, and have at least 10 years of communications and public involvement experience. Required skills include strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, excellent organization, ability to translate complex technical information, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Preferred qualifications include expertise in public‑involvement best practices, experience with transportation infrastructure, established relationships with local public agencies, and prior team‑management or business‑development experience. The role requires immediate full‑time availability in the United States, adherence to WSP’s safety and conduct policies, and the ability to work occasional evenings or weekends. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Politics, Planning, or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
