About the Role
Johnson Controls enhances the intelligence of buildings, providing smarter, safer, more comfortable, efficient and sustainable environments that support people’s missions across homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals, entertainment venues and more. • Deliver high‑level service to diagnose and resolve building inefficiencies on HVAC systems. • Act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions and outcomes during service visits. • Perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites. • Participate in the Service Technical Academy for certified HVAC training and skill development. • Communicate job progress and issues to JCI, contractors and customers. • Meet attendance requirements for mandatory union training during the first year. • Identify upselling opportunities, provide recommendations, and generate quotes for solutions. • Maintain safety standards and prioritize safety in all tasks.

What You Bring
Apprentices are trained to work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites, participate in certified training, and develop troubleshooting and customer‑service skills through coaching and mentorship. They keep JCI, contractors and customers informed of job progress, meet union training attendance requirements, and may upsell efficient solutions and provide quotes. Candidates must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, have at least one year of industry or mechanical‑systems experience, and possess knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities‑management tools and installation techniques. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, a self‑starter attitude, safety focus, and a valid driver’s license are required; 1‑2 years of technical trade school or college education is preferred. • Possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices. • Hold at least one year of HVAC or mechanical systems experience; technical trade school or college background preferred.
