About the Role

The Data Center Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift is responsible for assisting with operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs across commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned facilities. The technician also oversees contractors, attends management meetings, provides support before, during, and after disaster events, and ensures compliance with company and customer regulations. Positive customer relations, effective communication for short‑ and long‑range planning, and accurate administrative tasks such as time accounting and work order completion are essential. • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial building systems, industrial equipment, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance tools. • Perform preventive, reliability‑centered, and predictive maintenance on UPS, generators, pumps, fans, and control systems. • Conduct regular building and equipment inspections and record data using automatic devices. • Support Lead Engineer by interpreting mechanical specifications and manuals. • Stay informed on industry advancements through continuing education and trade journals. • Participate in technical skill‑upgrade programs as required. • Assist Facility Manager with budgeting and specifying major capital plant purchases. • Oversee on‑site contractors and ensure work complies with company and client policies. • Attend cross‑departmental management meetings and contribute to planning discussions. • Provide support before, during, and after disaster events. • Maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams. • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and safety procedures. • Complete accurate time‑keeping and work order documentation. • Maintain personal tool inventory and keep tool lists up‑to‑date. • Work any shift, including weekends and holidays, to support 24/7 data‑center operations.

What You Bring

The role requires extensive knowledge of mechanical and plant equipment such as UPS systems, emergency generators, pumps, fans, electrical controls, valves, compressors, chemical testing, air filtration, and humidification. The technician supports the Lead Engineer, stays current with technological advancements, and participates in preventive maintenance (PM), reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs. Duties include conducting inspections, performing repairs, utilizing automatic recording devices, and assisting the Facility Manager with budgeting and specifications for major capital equipment. Applicants must have at least five years of maintenance technician experience, relevant certifications and licensing, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work all shifts—including weekends and holidays—to support 24/7/365 data‑center operations. The job demands prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), overhead work, manual dexterity, and work in non‑ventilated areas. • Work safely in a team‑oriented environment following C&W Services Safety Program. • Meet physical requirements: prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), overhead work, and manual dexterity. • Hold at least five years of maintenance technician experience with required certifications and licensing.

Benefits
