About the Role

The Transmission Lineman A supports the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman by performing construction, maintenance, and repair work on transmission poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and related equipment. This role learns from the Lineman team and collaborates with other department personnel while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures. • Perform transmission structure replacements, wire pulling, and new line builds. • Construct, maintain, or repair transmission lines. • Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers, including setting, framing, and hardware installation. • Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized electric utility equipment. • Safely identify primary and secondary voltage and recognize induced voltage.

What You Bring

The position requires extensive physical activity in field conditions, including bending, squatting, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in extreme weather. Employees must maintain clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to identify colors and distances. Travel is extensive, with up to 100 % travel and the possibility of working seven days a week. • Knowledge of grounding, dead ending, and proper wire sag. • Proficient in climbing wood, steel, poles, and towers. • Available to work 50+ hours per week with up to 100% travel. • Valid state driver’s license; willing to travel in Texas and Florida. • Ability to work 7 days per week. • Preferred: valid Class A CDL. • Preferred: leadership training. • Preferred: completion of Lineman School. • Preferred: completion of Apprenticeship Program.
