About the Role

As an Area Sales Manager, you will help shape the future of power reliability and grid modernization across the United States and Canada. The role focuses on driving growth for medium and high voltage solutions, partnering closely with utilities, industrial customers, and transmission & distribution stakeholders, and elevating Hitachi Energy’s market presence. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while delivering impactful technical engagements such as webinars, seminars, on‑site sessions, and presentations that influence specifications and strengthen trusted relationships. • Develop and execute regional sales strategies for MV/HV products. • Identify and secure new business opportunities with utilities and industrial customers. • Deliver technical presentations, Lunch & Learns, and demand‑creation activities. • Partner with Front‑End Sales and account teams on visits, forecasting, and planning. • Build and manage long‑term customer and channel‑partner relationships. • Lead proposal discussions, negotiations, and contract follow‑through. • Monitor market trends and provide competitive insights. • Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure seamless project execution. • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, or a related field, or possesses equivalent experience, and brings at least five years of sales or business development experience in the MV/HV, transmission & distribution, or utility sectors. A strong grasp of power systems, substations, and distribution equipment, combined with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, is essential. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Minimum 5 years of sales or business development experience in MV/HV, T&D, or utility sectors. • Strong understanding of power systems, substations, and distribution equipment. • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and negotiation skills. • Willingness to travel 30%–50% within the assigned region.
