About the Role
Key responsibilities include interpreting scopes of work from plans, coordinating material delivery with project foremen, and operating a wide range of earth‑moving and material‑handling equipment. The operator will also conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and manage fuel, rented equipment, and subcontractor utilization, while ensuring site security and compliance with safety protocols. • Interpret scopes of work from plans and specifications. • Coordinate scheduling and material delivery with foremen. • Operate earth‑moving and material‑handling equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, etc.). • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and arrange repairs. • Clean and maintain equipment appearance. • Manage fuel storage and order fuel as needed. • Track utilization and condition of rented equipment; report any damage. • Supervise subcontractor use of Turner equipment and report damage. • Control access areas for equipment loading and unloading. • Assist with installation and maintenance of traffic control devices. • Secure equipment and work area during operations. • Participate in daily Pre‑Task Plans, follow safety protocols, and wear required PPE. • Identify and escalate problems to supervisors promptly. • Track production of completed tasks. • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least three years of equipment operating experience, a valid state or Commercial Driver’s License, and the necessary equipment certifications. Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and independent work abilities are required, along with reliable transportation and flexibility for night, weekend, and travel requirements. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, frequent standing, walking, climbing, and exposure to construction site hazards including noise, dust, and moving machinery. Employees must work in compliance with safety regulations and may encounter varying weather conditions and confined spaces. • Minimum three years of equipment operating experience or equivalent. • Valid state and/or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). • Required equipment operating certifications. • Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Reliable personal transportation.
