About the Role

Survey Technicians produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA and topographic surveys, and other deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D. They research boundary and easement documents, interpret field crew data, sketches, photographs, and reference maps, and prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights‑of‑way, easements, and acquisition parcels. Additional tasks are performed as needed to support project goals. • Collaboration with engineers and project managers on full projects • Produce subdivision, ALTA, and topographic surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D • Research and analyze boundary and easement documents • Interpret field crew data, sketches, photos, and reference maps • Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights‑of‑way and easements • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

This role will support the survey teams on a wide range of surveying and mapping tasks. At Kimley-Horn you will build a foundation for a long‑term, meaningful surveying career while learning directly from experienced survey leaders and shaping the firm’s expanding presence in the Pacific Northwest. Candidates must hold an accredited associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree (ABET or equivalent) by Summer 2026 in Surveying/Geomatics, Civil Engineering with a surveying focus, Engineering Technology, or a comparable qualification for Washington professional surveying licensure. Required skills include working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, strong communication and technical abilities, the ability to work independently and in a team, and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Hands‑on technical training with in‑house expertise • Hold accredited degree (Associate/Bachelor/Master) in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology by Summer 2026 • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D • Strong communication and technical skills • Ability to work independently and in teams
