About the Role

The leader will champion AECOM’s design philosophy, guide projects through all phases, ensure quality and sustainability, mentor staff at every career stage, and drive recruitment and retention of diverse talent. They will also oversee project delivery, manage studio performance metrics, and contribute to business development initiatives. • Champion AECOM’s design philosophy and enforce best‑in‑class quality standards. • Guide multidisciplinary teams through concept, design, and construction phases, ensuring technical and visual excellence. • Provide high‑level QA/QC and integrate sustainable design principles and emerging technologies. • Collaborate with the Columbus studio leader to foster a unified “One Ohio” culture. • Mentor, develop, and retain architectural staff across all career levels, promoting diversity and continuous learning. • Oversee execution of multiple complex projects, partnering with Project Managers on scope, staffing, fees, schedules, and work plans. • Manage studio performance metrics such as utilization, quality, profitability, and staffing levels. • Build and deepen relationships with existing and new clients; lead pursuits, interviews, and growth initiatives. • Promote AECOM’s design presence regionally and contribute to business development efforts.

What You Bring

The position is based in Cleveland, OH (hybrid work model) with a compensation range of $140,000–$170,000 annually. Candidates must hold an architecture license (Ohio preferred) and have a BA/BS in Architecture with at least eight years of experience. • Minimum: BA/BS in Architecture, 8+ years experience, architectural licensure (Ohio preferred). • Preferred: 10+ years experience, 5+ years in leadership, proven track record managing teams of 10+ and complex new‑builds or renovations. • Demonstrated ability to meet project performance and utilization targets and to drive business development. • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; proficient in BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp/Rhino, and parametric design tools. • Familiarity with contract types, design‑build delivery, DBIA certification, and sustainable design credentials (LEED, WELL) is a plus. • Interest or experience integrating AI into architectural and engineering services.
