About the Role
The Assistant Resident Engineer – Civils (Roads & Utilities) will be based in Dubai, UAE, and will support the Resident Engineer in all aspects of field engineering, including planning, scheduling, contracting, and construction methods for assigned projects. The role involves supervising contractor work, ensuring compliance with contract documents, coordinating with design engineers, monitoring material procurement, handling contract administration, and maintaining safety and quality standards on site. • Assist and deputize for the Resident Engineer on all field engineering tasks. • Supervise contractor’s work to ensure compliance with contract documents and O&M requirements. • Oversee construction inspectors, ensuring tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented per approved procedures. • Review and interpret design drawings and specifications to verify correct technical execution. • Monitor material procurement and deliveries to support construction schedule and quality standards. • Participate in contract administration, reviewing contractor submissions and issuing site instructions. • Prepare and maintain progress reports, measuring work completed against the program. • Ensure completeness and accuracy of as‑built drawings. • Liaise with the client and senior management, coordinating contractor activities on site. • Enforce site safety practices and maintain safety records.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and have at least ten years of post‑graduate experience supervising complex community development and infrastructure projects in Dubai, with strong knowledge of contractual relationships and computer‑based reporting tools. Fluent English communication, proven leadership ability, and preferably civil engineering consultancy experience in the UAE are desired.
