About the Role

Core responsibilities include working safely, making safety observations, following standard work and control plans, setting up and changing over machines, operating PVD equipment to produce acceptable quality parts, inspecting parts, monitoring machine output, uptime and yield, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, cleaning equipment and work area, generating improvement ideas, applying continuous‑improvement problem‑solving tools, and maintaining 5S housekeeping. • Run PVD chambers during the night shift to manufacture finished components. • Execute machine setup, changeovers, routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues. • Inspect produced parts and track equipment performance metrics. • Adhere to safety guidelines, report hazards, and perform safety observations. • Implement 5S standards and propose process‑improvement initiatives. • Maintain clean disciplinary and attendance records as per policy. • Interpret technical documents, specifications, and use enterprise systems (ERP, MPS, SFM, QMS).

Certifications in confined spaces, fall protection, and other required safety training are required or must be obtained. The role requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, specifications, standard work instructions, and systems such as MPS, SFM, QMS, and ERP; perform basic math calculations; apply reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; and understand basic reports and daily business requirements. Physical demands involve regularly standing, walking, using hands, and reaching, with occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 40 lb; a Human Performance Evaluation may be required for new hires or return‑to‑work situations. The work environment includes occasional exposure to moving equipment, fumes or airborne particles, and moderate to low noise levels; reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities. • Meet color‑vision standards (≤40) and achieve PQR Expert status. • Bring prior experience operating similar machinery and strong troubleshooting ability. • Capable of lifting up to 50 lb and obtaining required confined‑space and fall‑protection certifications. • Perform basic arithmetic for measurements and unit conversions. • Work independently with limited supervision and accept overtime assignments.

Benefits

The Specialty Operator 1 (PVD) 3rd shift role pays $24.00‑$25.60 plus shift differential and supports Technical Services by operating PVD chambers under the CI Technician and Finishing Engineer, performing production processing, quality inspections, basic preventive maintenance, 5S, and continuous improvement activities. Other duties in Technical Services may be required, and strong communication and attendance are essential.
