About the Role
Working under direct supervision, the incumbent will assist with project documentation, use design and work‑management software, and contribute to preparing material lists, labor estimates, and construction drawings. The position also involves on‑site visits, communication of job status, and maintaining organized records while adhering to all safety policies and regulatory requirements. • Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures 100% of the time. • Develop skills to safely make job‑site visits and interact with construction personnel. • Develop and demonstrate ability to use the various design software and work management tools utilized by the company and client(s). • Prepare project and job packages that include material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, site drawings and construction drawings for various installations of electrical facilities in a cost‑effective manner that maximizes safety and service reliability. • Develop skills to accurately evaluate loading on distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing. • Regularly communicate job status to assure client expectations and deliverable dates are met. • Develop relationships with key internal and external customers while supporting both company and client’s business goals and expectations, representing themselves positively and professionally. • Maintain files and records in an organized manner. • Mentor under experienced personnel, supervision, management, and PE.

What You Bring
This entry‑level Engineering Technologist position supports the design and evaluation of safe, cost‑effective electrical facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires basic knowledge of client design processes, data entry, and technical skills relevant to the company's areas of expertise. Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, and 0‑1 year of experience in power distribution engineering, GIS, or CAD work. Required skills include basic math, strong reading and writing ability, proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and the capacity to work safely in varied physical and environmental conditions. The job entails occasional standing, lifting, and exposure to wet, humid, and elevated work environments, as well as the need for close, distance, and color vision, and the ability to manage moderate noise levels. Employees must be able to adjust focus, perceive depth, and operate safely around electrical hazards and other site-specific risks. • Demonstrate the ability to properly apply various codes, requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures to all assigned work. • Demonstrate the ability to learn utility construction practices on public right of way (ROW) and private land.
