About the Role
As the Delivery portfolio evolves, strong health and safety leadership is critical to support Infrastructure Delivery and Operations & Maintenance across metropolitan and regional locations. This role ensures that safety practices are integrated into daily operations. The opportunity is for a Delivery Health and Safety Lead – ID and Portfolio to provide visible, people‑centred HSE leadership across Infrastructure Delivery and Operations & Maintenance, anchoring the Delivery HSE function and ensuring safety support is embedded, consistent and aligned to operational realities. The position reports to senior leadership and works closely with cross‑functional teams. The role involves leading a team of Health and Safety Business Partners, building strong relationships with regional and operational leaders, and maintaining a field presence while offering calm, credible guidance in complex environments. It also drives safety improvement initiatives and oversees incident investigations. • Lead and develop Health and Safety Business Partners supporting infrastructure delivery and O&M. • Build trusted relationships with regional, operational and delivery leaders. • Provide visible leadership across sites, depots and operational environments. • Support incident investigations, assurance activities and safety improvement initiatives. • Manage competing priorities while maintaining sustainable team capacity.

The ideal candidate is a people‑focused HSE leader who leads through trust, visibility and influence, comfortable operating in complex operational environments and bringing a calm, credible presence that builds confidence with leaders and frontline teams. • Demonstrate significant health and safety leadership in operational, maintenance or infrastructure delivery settings. • Possess strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulatory frameworks and safety management systems. • Exhibit proven people leadership managing large or dispersed teams. • Communicate effectively with high emotional intelligence and strong relationship‑building skills.
