About the Role

Senior Project Engineers ensure that all tasks from proposal through final invoice are completed, either personally or by subordinates, while providing mentorship and embodying ECS core values and a positive customer service attitude. The role primarily involves overseeing the preparation and review of geotechnical reports and geostructural designs produced by junior staff, and managing a variety of geotechnical engineering projects such as boring layouts, utility clearances, drill‑rig supervision, in‑situ testing, soil classification, laboratory testing, and report generation. In addition, the engineer leads geostructural design projects—including MSE walls, soil‑nail walls, pile and lagging walls, deep foundations, ground improvement, and dewatering—prepares proposals, hosts client meetings, provides technical solutions, and collaborates with other managers on staffing decisions. Expectations span business development (weekly client interaction, industry involvement), training and technical oversight, maintaining billable productivity, senior review of field reports, full responsibility for invoicing and collections, coordinating project‑specific meetings, and promoting ECS safety culture through audits and incident reporting. • Oversee preparation and review of geotechnical reports and geostructural designs. • Manage geotechnical engineering projects: boring layouts, utility clearances, drill‑rig supervision, in‑situ testing, soil classification, lab testing, and reporting. • Lead geostructural design projects such as MSE walls, soil‑nail walls, pile and lagging walls, deep foundations, ground improvement, and dewatering. • Prepare and review proposals and contracts, ensuring timely delivery and compliance. • Host client meetings, provide technical solutions, and act as main point of contact. • Mentor, train, and evaluate junior staff; assign tasks and set development goals. • Drive business development by interfacing with 200–400 clients weekly and participating in industry organizations. • Maintain billable utilization, oversee invoicing, collections, and project profitability. • Enforce ECS safety policies, participate in audits, and promptly report hazards. • Review daily field reports, manage and approve staff timecards.

What You Bring

Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant experience, a BS/MS in civil, geological, or related engineering, a Professional Engineer license in the operating state(s) (or ability to obtain one within three months), a valid driver’s license, strong communication, project management and business development skills, extensive geotechnical knowledge, proficiency with geotechnical software, and experience in power/energy and transportation sectors. • Require 5+ years of experience, BS/MS in civil/geological engineering, and a PE license in relevant state(s). • Possess strong proficiency with geotechnical software and geostructural design tools. • Demonstrate experience in power/energy and transportation sector projects. • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
