About the Role

Mortenson is currently seeking a Truck Operator who will be responsible for operating trucks as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The role involves operating a variety of trucks according to project needs and following prescribed safety regulations. The position requires maintaining a clean and orderly work area, performing routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning, and observing equipment operation to detect malfunctions. • Operate Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, and Tractor Trailer/Lowboy as required by projects. • Follow prescribed safety regulations and work plans, including pre‑task cards. • Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area, keeping it clear and orderly. • Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment. • Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions. • Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will build effective relationships with diverse individuals, work independently, and demonstrate strong teamwork, a positive attitude, and professional customer service skills. Applicants must hold a current driver’s license with the appropriate classification and endorsements, be able to operate vehicle controls, read safety and maintenance documents, and apply basic mathematical skills. The company does not provide visa sponsorship and requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Related construction experience preferred. • Current driver’s license with proper classification and required endorsements. • Strong teamwork orientation and professional customer service skills. • Positive attitude, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently. • Ability to operate vehicle controls (levers, gears, pedals, steering wheel). • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts. • Knowledge of equipment and their uses. • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). • Active listening and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback. • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements. • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance).
