About the Role
The Carpenter designs, constructs, erects, installs, and repairs wood, plywood, and wallboard structures using pneumatic and electric power tools. They fasten materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and perform final checks for accuracy. The role requires knowledge of advanced layout, simon forms, anchor bolt layout, material takeoff from drawings, and safety requirements, and it may involve work in plant operations or construction sites. The Carpenter reads and interprets blueprints and sketches, prepares reports, and directs laborers and trade helpers. They build and set forms, use leveling instruments, tie rebar, construct scaffolding, perform finish carpentry, and operate various hand and power tools. Additionally, they inspect work areas, conduct repairs or maintenance, and assist other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints/sketches, and complete reports • Instruct laborers and other construction trade helpers • Build and set forms, use level instrument, tie rebar, build scaffold, finish carpentry work, read tape/ruler, set screeds, install batter boards, and operate various hand and power tools • Inspect areas and conduct repairs or maintenance • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring
The position demands the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), and to perform repetitive hand/arm and leg motions. Workers must climb and balance on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders and scaffolds, and be able to work in uneven, muddy, rocky, or sandy conditions, as well as confined spaces and adverse weather. Effective communication with management and supervision, reading and writing comprehension, and basic math skills are required. The Carpenter must make decisions, maintain attention amid distractions, and be detail‑oriented, remembering and observing work details.
