About the Role
The Energy unit provides integrated engineering and project management services across the lifecycle of hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission networks worldwide. The Energy Transition team is seeking a Project Manager to lead technical advisory projects for clients in the UK and Europe, supporting the global energy transition. The role will also help improve project management processes and drive delivery excellence and efficiency. • Deliver project scope on time, to quality and cost targets. • Build and manage relationships with senior client representatives and internal stakeholders. • Establish effective communication across the whole project delivery team. • Lead problem solving and decision‑making throughout project lifecycle. • Control internal and external commercial aspects under contract arrangements. • Manage risk for both the business and the client. • Work concurrently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines. • Deliver thermal energy projects (OCGT/CCGT) for consultancies, designers, contractors or major industry clients. • Manage thermal energy advisory assignments, including lender, acquisition and vendor due diligence. • Conduct technical reviews of third‑party engineering designs and report findings. • Lead preparation of technical reports, specifications and employer’s requirements while maintaining schedule and budget. • Lead tender preparation and negotiation for Owner’s Engineer projects. • Manage interfaces between main contractors and monitor progress against programme milestones. • Support clients in resolving contractor claims and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. • Administer contracts and apply change, risk, schedule and cost management practices.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a relevant engineering or management degree or have equivalent project management experience in the energy sector, and have worked on electrical infrastructure projects such as Owner’s Engineer or Lender’s Engineer roles. Strong communication, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment are essential. Desirable experience includes energy advisory work, exposure to all project lifecycle stages, and recognised project management qualifications such as PMQ, PMP or Prince 2.
