About the Role

Duties also involve building local teams or leveraging existing staff across the company to deliver world‑class services to regional clients, as well as engaging in business development activities to support existing and new clients in the region. • Apply core project management tools and techniques (life cycle, scope, schedule, budget, risk, earned value, communication, change management, closeout). • Coordinate engineers and team members throughout the entire project lifecycle. • Oversee non‑engineering aspects such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management. • Lead QA/QC processes to ensure delivery of world‑class quality. • Mentor and train junior staff including assistant project managers, coordinators, CAD technicians, and engineers. • Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.

What You Bring

The primary duties of a Substation Project Manager include executing and managing all aspects of Power Delivery projects of any size and complexity, covering scope and proposal development, team formation, project execution, closeout, quality control, schedule and budget. Experience with substation, system protection/planning, transmission or distribution lines, or related strategic services is preferred. • Travel as needed for project execution and business development activities. • Preferred qualifications: PMP certification, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and Earned Value Management expertise (WBS, percent complete, earned vs planned value, cost to complete, estimate at completion). • Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 7+ years of relevant experience, at least 2 years of project‑management experience, strong teamwork, organizational, project‑management and communication skills, and commitment to the employee‑owned culture.
