About the Role

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining client and design community relationships, building high‑performance teams through supervision, training, coaching and performance appraisals, and collaborating with Sales and Marketing to obtain new business. The leader oversees risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions, and ensures strict adherence to ethics and compliance. They manage multiple projects simultaneously, develop and implement master schedules, control budgets, drive adoption of Turner initiatives and technologies, and supervise the QA/QC program and safety protocols. Additional duties involve corporate initiatives, operations review meetings, and supervising one or more Project Executives. • Cultivate long‑lasting relationships with clients, designers, and industry organizations to generate future business. • Build and mentor high‑performance teams; provide regular feedback and complete employee performance appraisals. • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to secure new work for the business unit. • Ensure compliance with ethics, safety, and regulatory requirements on all projects. • Lead risk assessments, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions. • Oversee multiple projects from pre‑construction through closeout, managing master schedules and budgets. • Drive adoption of Turner initiatives, technologies, BIM, and LEAN processes. • Administer the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program and enforce safety protocols. • Conduct Operations Review Meetings and represent the business unit on corporate initiatives. • Supervise Project Executives and manage staffing responsibilities within the business unit.

What You Bring

The role is located in Chicago, IL (60601) within Turner’s Critical Facilities – Data Centers division. It is a salaried exempt position classified as experienced and reports to the Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, or Regional Operations Manager. The position involves leading, managing, and coordinating all phases of multiple construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout, as well as securing new work for the company. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 18 years of related experience, or an equivalent blend of education, training and experience. Required knowledge includes construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering and accounting principles, as well as regional market insight and proven sales capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication, advanced presentation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to read and interpret contracts, drawings and specifications are essential. Experience with BIM, LEAN, and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are also required. The role demands physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, use construction hoists, and perform tasks requiring close vision, depth perception and manual dexterity, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The work environment is primarily on active construction sites, exposing the employee to moving equipment, heights, fumes, weather conditions, noise and potential electrical hazards. • Demonstrate at least 18 years of construction experience, with expertise in cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering, and accounting. • Possess strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to read, interpret, and apply contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules. • Knowledge of regional market dynamics and proven sales abilities.
