About the Role

• Coordinate work projects within the electrical scope of the solar site • Partner with the Electrical Superintendent in electrical material, equipment sizing, and site utilization plan • Develop project schedules, updates, and a three‑week look‑ahead with the Electrical Superintendent • Ensure work teams have needed resources and support • Supervise and ensure quality control of self‑performed and subcontracted work • Act as liaison between field engineers, contractors, and craft workers to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications • Provide leadership and supervision for the electrical team • Coach, mentor, and train crafts • Establish a teamwork environment that promotes inclusivity and values diversity • Monitor work progress and performance of crafts, forepersons, and subcontractors • Implement and monitor Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site • Maintain relationships with site visitors such as customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, offering improvement suggestions • Lead subcontractors and suppliers for the project • Supervise budget and recommend subcontractors and trade partners • Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners • Facilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors for project coordination • Perform on‑site Project Manager duties on small‑scope projects • Implement a quality plan that meets customer‑specified performance criteria in design and construction

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Electrical Superintendent to coordinate and supervise electricians and crews on solar project sites. The role requires flexible, resourceful, and proactive interaction with staff at all levels while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. The individual must anticipate problems, devise creative solutions, and ensure project objectives are met. The position demands 100% travel to remote locations and does not offer visa sponsorship; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Utility solar and construction experience is preferred, and the role is not remote. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills • Detail‑oriented ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and accepted business practices • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and relevant web applications • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Minimum five years of construction/supervision experience with medium and high voltage projects • Experience with self‑perform projects • Current driver’s license • Ability to travel up to 100% to remote locations

Base pay ranges from $102,900 to $154,400, with higher rates for certain office locations, and compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
